Reheat Lumpia Like a Pro
December 3, 2025
Leftovers… if there are any. Here’s how to bring back that hot, flavorful crunch at home without drying things out or turning them soggy.
Let’s be honest: most of the time, our rolls don’t survive long enough to be called leftovers. But on the rare day you do have a few saved in the fridge or freezer, we want you to enjoy the same flavorful crunch at home that you get from our counter.
Here’s a simple guide to reheating Lumpia Xpress rolls like a pro — no guesswork, no disappointment.
First, a quick safety note
Always make sure your rolls are heated all the way through before eating. The outside should be crisp, and the inside should be hot, not just warm. If you cut one open and it is still cool in the center, give it a little more time.
Reheating from the refrigerator
If you have cooked rolls that were cooled and stored in the refrigerator, this is the easiest situation.
Oven or toaster oven (recommended)
- Preheat to 375°F.
- Place rolls on a baking sheet in a single layer. You can line the tray with parchment if you like easier cleanup.
- Heat for about 8–12 minutes, turning once halfway through.
- Check for a golden, crisp shell and a hot center.
This method is your best bet for keeping the outside crisp without drying out the inside.
Air fryer
- Preheat to 350°F if your air fryer has a preheat setting.
- Arrange rolls in a single layer with a little space between each one.
- Heat for about 5–8 minutes, shaking the basket or turning them halfway through.
Air fryers can cook quickly, so check them early — it’s easy to go from perfect crunch to overdone if you walk away too long.
Reheating from frozen (take-home packs)
Our take-home packs are designed to go from your freezer to your table whenever you’re ready. Cooking times can vary a bit depending on your equipment, but these guidelines will put you in the right zone.
Oven or toaster oven
- Preheat to 400°F.
- Place frozen rolls in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 15–20 minutes, turning once halfway through.
- Near the end, check every couple of minutes until the rolls are evenly golden and crisp.
Air fryer from frozen
- Set the air fryer to 375°F.
- Arrange frozen rolls in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
- Cook for about 10–12 minutes, shaking or turning halfway through.
As always, test one in the center. If the filling is not fully hot, give them a few more minutes.
What not to do (if you care about crunch)
- Microwave-only reheating: Quick, but it usually turns the wrapper soft and chewy instead of crisp.
- Covering tightly with foil: Traps steam and makes the rolls soggy.
- Overcrowding the tray or basket: The rolls end up steaming each other instead of crisping up.
Making the most of your take-home packs
One of the best parts of our take-home packs is that you can make exactly as many as you need:
- A couple of rolls for a late-night snack.
- A quick plate of crunchy rolls for surprise guests.
- A full tray for movie night or game day.
However you use them, think of your oven or air fryer as your “second station” — we start the experience in our kitchen, and you finish it in yours.
Eat ’em now or cook ’em at home — just don’t expect to save some for later!
